Boarding
Oak Spring Kennels, Inc., a proud member of the American Boarding Kennel Association, is a modern boarding facility located just north of Belvidere in the suburb of Poplar Grove, Illinois.

For the safety of our guests, the owners live on the premises, and the entire kennel area is surrounded by a security fence.  We work very hard at making Oak Spring Kennels the best possible place for your dog to stay when away from home.  It’s our goal to ensure that each guest receives the personal attention that they are used to, and we invite you to tour our kennel during regular business hours or by appointment.

Each dog has a private kennel run.  Twelve foot ceilings and excellent ventilation add to your dog’s comfort.  Weather permitting, dogs have access to private patios which are covered for protection from the rain and sun.  Heated floors and gas forced heat keep our guests comfortable even on the coldest winter nights.

Hours of Operation

Drop-off and pick-up times are by
appointment only
Monday through Saturday.

The office is closed Sundays and all holidays including:
New Year's Eve, New Year's Day,
Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day Weekend,
Fourth of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving,
Christmas Eve, & Christmas Day.

Reservations
Reservations must be made in advance, especially during peak holiday seasons.  Reservations can be made by calling the office at 815.765.3054, during regular business hours or via email at boarding@oakspringkennels.com.

All drop-offs and pick-ups require a scheduled appointment.

• If you need to make arrangements to drop-off or pick-up at a different time, please make that known at the time of booking.  An additional fee may apply.

• In the event that you cannot make your scheduled appointment, we require 24-hour cancellation notice or a cancellation fee will be added to your next boarding charge.

• Please call if you are running late, an additional fee will be added to your bill for any missed or late appointments greater than 30 minutes after your scheduled appointment time.

Current Rates

One dog
  $25 per day for a 1 or 2 night stay
  $20 per day for 3 or more consecutive nights

Two dogs same run
  $35 per day for a 1 or 2 night stay
  $30 per day for 3 or more consecutive nights

Veterinary Care
In the unlikely event that your pet requires veterinary attention, every attempt will be made to seek the services of your preferred provider.  Please provide an emergency phone number during check-in so that we can keep you informed.

Medicine
Please bring dosage instructions and any prescription medication that your dog is currently taking.

Leashes & Collars
For your dog’s safety, we ask that they be leashed and under control upon arrival.

What to bring for you pet's stay
Shot Records
To Ensure the medical safety of all our guests, every dog staying at Oak Spring Kennels must provide proof of the following current, veterinarian-administered vaccines: DHLLPP-type distemper shot, a rabies vaccination and a vaccination for Bordetella (kennel cough).  All must be given within the past year of the date of departure.  A copy of these records will be kept in your dog’s file.

Dog Food
We feed Royal Canin to our dogs and our kennel guests.  If your dog is on a special food from your veterinarian or if you would like to bring your own dog food, please put it in an airtight sealed container.  Any uneaten food will be returned to you upon departure.
